Monday's Weekend Recap...

I had iced tea next to my chair (the picture looks like liquor) but pretty much spent most of the weekend in my happy place, in front of the TV.

I have been working extra hours at work to make up the 12 hours I will be off for my long weekend coming up.  When I got home Friday, I did nothing.  Should have done some cleaning, but didn't.

On Saturday, I had breakfast and went to Target.  I haven't been to Target in a couple of months and just needed a few grocery items, but swung by the clothing, looking for a dress.  No dresses so I got my eggs, some lunchmeat, and cheese then headed home.  Put things away, and should have done some cleaning but planted my butt in that chair and stayed there most of the day.

I went to Sunday school and church yesterday, Got the laundry started when I got home.  Should have done some cleaning but planted my hind end again.  You get the drift.  I guess I work better under pressure because my small group is meeting here tomorrow.  I need to see Helen after work today, then stay out of my chair when I get home!!  Wish me luck!!

Peace & hugs!!
To Him be glory forever!  Amen!

  1. Sometimes we just need to let our bodies rest. I know I've been in that mode here lately. I think after the hype of the hurricane coming and going my body started to just shut down. This past week has been a kind of R&R week for me, even though we still kept busy and worked at Dixie Cottage, etc., but I planted my butt in the recliner as often as I could too! That's quite alright! I know you are getting excited about your trip. I pray you will have a wonderful time and good weather. Can't wait to hear about it when you get back. Meanwhile try not to overdo it this week, although it already sounds like a busy week. Hugs to Helen. and (((hugs))) to you.

  3. One of the best things about being an adult, is calling a 'Pajama Day' whenever you want!
Considering the road trip and good times ahead, I think you're wise to charge your batteries.

I've not been to Target in a while, but psychologically it's a pleasure to shop there. Props to whoever designed the wide aisles, good lighting, tastefully-arranged shelves, etc. (Ha, I'm sounding like a spokesperson!)
Have a beautiful day, dear friend!

  5. There is the good possibility your body needed the rest because it was recovering or fighting off something that was trying to invade your system. Remember we need hydration even more as we get older - - - so if you drink all day, you will be moving back and forth to the bathroom!
So excited for you and the reunion trip this next weekend. Truly hoping all will be healthy and the most fun you could ask for!

  6. I work best under a deadline also; grading papers today and the final grades are due in about an hour! We are also brewing two beers today. Glad I asked for the day off though (for jury duty but I was dismissed; they don't know that though!) so I could get more done. I need to go to Target too!

  8. I love weekends like that. I don't believe when we die, we're going to be thinking I wish I had dusted more and cleaned my house more. I think we'll wish we had spent more time with friends and family, etc. And sometimes we just need to put our behind in a chair and relax and enjoy life. I promise the dust will still be there when you get up. lol Have a great day Terri.

  9. Sometimes, parking our butts and resting is just what the doctor ordered, Terri. Sounds like you had a nice weekend and are ready to take on the week ahead.
    Blessings!

  11. Sometimes our body just tells us it is time to relax. I see it as much needed. There is always cleaning to do anyway.
