The Saturday 9...

Thanks to Crazy Sam for today's Saturday 9!  You can join in HERE!

Drivers License

Welcome to Saturday 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every
Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so to speak. We encourage you to visit other participants' posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: Drivers License (2021)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) This song is about a girl who just got her driver's license. Who taught you to drive?  My dad taught me to drive. It was before Driver's Ed was required.

2) Do you like your driver's license/state ID photo?  I just had to renew mine and the picture is actually one of the best I've had on my license.

3) Think back to the first ticket you received. How old were you, and what was it for?  My first ticket was for speeding... 35 mph in a 25 mph area.  I was 33 years old.  The officer thanked me for being so nice as he gave me the ticket.  That is the only ticket I have ever had in 55 years of driving.

4) In this week's song, Olivia Rodrigo is brokenhearted, driving through her boyfriend's neighborhood, certain that he has taken up with the sophisticated blonde girl. When it comes to romance, do you have a jealous streak?  Early on when dating Joe I admit to being a little jealous a few times.  He was good looking and there were a few women hanging around - but he chose me and never gave me a reason to be jealous.

5) Olivia grew up in Temecula, California. Temecula is home to 40 wineries and dozens of tasting rooms. Have you ever attended a wine tasting?  Yes. Several times, including the best one ever in Tuscany.

6) Her first on-screen appearance was in a commercial for Old Navy stores. Old Navy is owned by the same company as Banana Republic, Gap, and Athletica. Have you done any of your holiday shopping at one of those stores? (Yes, their websites count.)  Nope.  The only one I have ever shopped in is Old Navy but that was years ago.

7) She went on to star in projects for Disney studios. That's also how pop stars Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, and Christina Aguilera got started. Arguably the first teen star created by Disney studios was Annette Funicello. Do you remember her?  Yes. I am old. I watched the Micky Mouse Club religiously back in the day.  Annette, Bobby, Tommy... (AND Lindsay Alley was a Mouseketeer, too and we saw her last night at our Polk Theatre).

8) "Drivers License" was one of this year's most popular songs. One of this year's most popular books is John Grisham's The Judge's List. Do you expect to do much reading between now and the end of the year? If so, what's on your TBR (to be read) list?  I am reading the 9th Outlander book, Tell The Bees That I Am Gone, by Diana Gabaldon.  It will take some time to finish over 900 pages but I am loving it.

9) Random Question: What is the longest line you ever stood in and was it worth it?  I am that person who tells you all the time that I am usually short on patience and that includes standing in lines.  The longest was probably to get into the Vatican Museum, in Rome.  We were with a group and could enter through the group entrance but there were a bunch of groups ahead of us.  It was worth it though.

Peace & hugs!!
God bless us, everyone!!

  2. Happy Birthday once again, Terri! The only ticket I got was for rolling through a stop sign. Can you believe it? I don't recall the Mickey Mouse Club, but I did see Annette in later movies.
    Blessings!

  3. Happy birthday, Terri! I hope you have a wonderful day with something fun planned. A wine tasting in Tuscany would be lovely and I would suffer a very long line to see the Vatican Museum or the Louvre for that matter.

  4. Through these Q-and-A's, I'm happy to learn even more about you! Back in the day I loved to watch the MM Club -- my favorites were the little twosome, Cubby and Karen. Happy Birthday!

  6. I enjoyed your answers. My first license was a Learners Permit (age 15), but before that I was riding mini-bikes, dirt bikes, driving tractors, riding mowers, etc. I had no problem getting the permit.
    Happy Birthday!
    Blessings. xx

  7. My dad taught me to drive, but I was a reluctant learner, so although he began when I was 16, I didn't get my license until I was 18.

  8. Happy Birthday to you!!! I hope you are having a wonderful day today. I enjoyed your answers...amazing that you got to go to Italy, Rome, etc. I know those are very special memories. I remember that I failed the driver's test the first time because of parallel parking. I finally got it right, and I stay away from parallel parking to this day. LOL. I don't remember my Dad teaching me. I think I took Driver's Ed, but honestly, I'm not positive on that. That's so long ago!!! I know we had a Driver's Ed teacher at our school, so I guess I must have taken it there. LOL

  10. Happy Birthday dear Terri!
The longest line I was in was one year when I was Black Friday shopping with my sister. The line wrapped around the store. I don't do that anymore!
