Backing up to Thursday, I went out to dinner with the Mas Verde dinner group. We went to Miller's Ale House. There were 12 of us and we had a good time and some good food!
Friday evenings are now reserved for Nickels (a silly but fun game) at the Clubhouse. There were 11 of us and we had a great time. I won nothing. It wasn't my lucky night but I had a good time and that's what it is really all about. Nice to be gathering again!
On Saturday, my old Museum friends' lunch group got together to go see Cindee in her new home. She and her hubby moved to Palmetto (about 90 minutes away). Heather drove us and we arrived safely (and home again). Our group used to be six but is dwindling. Everyone has retired and we lost Melody to cancer a few years ago, Terry A. and her hubby spend the summers in Georgia, Heather will be moving to Virginia after the first of the year, and Cindee moved south (to be closer to kids & grands). All summer, it was just Shirley and me getting together and sometimes Heather (if she wasn't traveling). Cindee has Parkinson's Disease and is limited now in her activities. All of that to just say we were blessed to spend a few hours all together again (except for Melody). Cindee & Rick's new home is right on the water.
We all packed our lunches so Cindee wouldn't have to prepare food for us but this lovely table setting greeted us and she had a veggie tray, a beautiful fruit salad, and several dessert offerings. We didn't need to bring anything, there was so much! That island you can see is owned by the Audubon Society and is a bird sanctuary. We saw several pelicans while sitting out there. They also see (but we didn't) manatees swimming by and dolphins now and then. They are right on the Terra Ceia Bay, and close to the Manatee River.
They have kayaks, a fishing boat, and a pontoon boat. We were offered a boat ride but it was a bit too chilly to be on the water without jackets (we weren't prepared!). Maybe next time!
Rick sent this picture to show us the beautiful sunset we missed. He wanted to thank us for coming and told us how much it meant to Cindee. We will have to plan another trip soon.
Wishing you a blessed week ahead!

The trip to see Cindee sounds wonderful. What a beautiful view! Nothing like fish straight from the waters. Kinda like an orange straight from the tree. I so wish Mother's little neighborhood would socialize like yours does. That is so good for the soul.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you could reunite with special friends at such a gorgeous home, Terri. How wonderful to live right on the water! Thanks for sharing so many lovely photos here today.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
What a wonderful place to live! Right on the water.
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredibly lovely place to live!!! I’m so glad you got to go there. What a good time!
ReplyDeleteYour friend lives in a beautiful place. That would be so nice to be that close to the water and seeing the dolphins and manatees along with the birds. So glad you all had this time together.
ReplyDeleteGosh, Cindee's home looks like it's situated in the perfect spot! That porch! I'm glad to hear you 5 still make it a point to gather ... and remember Melody, too. Every day's a gift!
ReplyDeleteIt sounded like you had a wonderful weekend, Terri. Cindee's home looks lovely although I am not sure if I would want to be that close to the water in hurricane conditions. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteIt is on a quiet bay and protected by the outer banks, but I agree with you. The house is on stilts (Cindee has an elevator lift).
DeleteWhat a nice weekend. Cindee and Rick have a lovely home with a fantastic view. Thanks for sharing the fun with us too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings. xx
I'm glad you were able to gather with friends. Their home and view is lovely, and it looks nice and warm.
ReplyDeleteIt will be nice to go to the Christmas Eve service with friends.
What a beautiful location for Cindee's home! I am sure they enjoy it thoroughly!
