Continuing the tradition started by Deb at Breathing in Grace, I am posting a few photos from my week...
Vinny was not happy that Bella was on my lap...
I went to visit with Helen yesterday. She accused me of not coming the day before. I reminded her that I was there for over an hour and we took a walk. She wasn't buying it. Her new Occupational Therapist came in while I was there, and occupational and physical therapy was to start in the afternoon. The OT asked me some questions about Helen. I mentioned that she used to be very involved with her church. The therapist told me that one of the residents does a weekly Bible study and that she will make sure Helen gets to it when they meet again. Before I left, I mentioned to Helen that she was going to go to a Bible study soon and she actually smiled and said she would like that. She was listless and unhappy but that did seem to brighten her up a bit. I told her I wouldn't come today but would visit on Saturday. She wants bigger wastebaskets so I will pick up one for the bathroom and one for the living area. Whatever makes her happy. Praise God.
I dropped a resume off at an employment agency, expecting that they might want to talk with me... just got a thank you, and if they have something for me they will call. I did have an interview with a doctor in holistic medicine whose practice is growing fast. She needs a 'back office' person for 10 hours a week to do some complicated data entry on lab results for patients, that come from multiple locations. The pay is good but I really need more than 10 hours. She said more hours would come, probably by the end of summer because she is hiring another doctor to work in the practice. She doesn't need me until mid-April and she knows I will continue to look. I am interested though. She goes to my church and two other members told me about her position. It would be five hours on two days a week. Maybe I can find a few hours somewhere else to tide me over and make up the difference I still need, at least until August.

Loved your photos, Terri, and am glad for the update on Helen and your job search. I feel that something will come through for you at just the right time and place.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
We only have goldfish so I always enjoy your pet pics.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear Helen is giving you a hard time.
Good luck on the job hunting.
Oh noooo on Helen's memory issues! I have to wonder if stress doesn't play a role in elders' cognitive abilities. (*sigh*) Working for a holistic doctor sounds fascinating! I'm encouraged, not only by that but that other friends are looking on your behalf. Fingers crossed and prayers said!
ReplyDeleteI am slowly getting around to Easter decorations. The plastic tub of them is sitting in the dining room. Does that count? LOL. I had to get a perm today, so that took my morning. And well, it's almost time to fix supper now, so I guess they will wait until tomorrow at this rate. Had to get Scott's birthday over first. Praying for Helen to settle in and relax and also to let you have a break... She will be fine. I hope they will take her to some kinds of activities, but maybe they don't do group things yet? She will be fine. Praying for the right job for you to work out soon. I am sure it is out there. God knows exactly what you need. Vinny looks a bit jealous, but who could blame him? Bella is gorgeous!! Hope you can relax a bit this weekend after your busy week. (((hugs)))
ReplyDeleteYou have much on you right now after all you have been through. Prayers
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed that you have decorations up with all the things you have been busy with. I hope Helen enjoys the bible study and starts to settle in.
ReplyDeleteThe job sounds interesting and it would be nice to work with someone from your church. Praying the hours you need come through. I know God has a plan!
I'm glad to hear Helen perked up a bit at the mention of the Bible study. She will adjust, I'm sure. It will just take time. I will be praying that something else turns up that would give you a few more hours in addition to the dr's office. Working for someone from your church would probably be really nice. I have that same Easter basket on my front door! You are doing so great, Terri. I trust God has you in His hand through all of this. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI hope you find something you love to do.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you had a dog.
Bella is my friend's dog.
