The Wednesday Hodgepodge!!

Thanks to Joyce for this week's Hodgepodge!  You can join other Hodgepodgers HERE!

Questions for the Wednesday Hodgepodge-Volume 123

If you're looking for the final installment of my A-Z blog challenge posts you'll find it by clicking here. Of course, you're all welcome to join in the weekly Wednesday Hodgepodge...here are this week's questions-

1.  This week's Hodgepodge is Volume 123.  What's something you've done recently that was as easy as 1-2-3?  I made vegetable soup in the crockpot yesterday with leftovers from a pot roast.  It was good and easy as 1-2-3!

2.  The Wednesday Hodgepodge also happens to fall on the first day of May ...what is something you may do this month?  Your calendar must be different from mine but I MAY get some extra cleaning done before my knee surgery on May 12.  I have some motivation to get some things done now.  Time is ticking.

3. The Englishman Horace Walpole is credited as saying, "The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think"  How do you see it?  Well, I feel pretty deeply but do not see life as a tragedy. I do like to laugh but I am not at all sure I agree with Mr. Walpole.  It is not that cut  & dry/black & white!

4.  May is National Hamburger Month...how often do you eat a burger?  Joe and I both enjoy hamburgers and we have them a couple of times a month. What are your must-haves when it comes to burgers?  Onion, tomato, cheese, ketchup, and a little mayo!  I assume you vegetarians won't be celebrating so tell us what you'd like instead?  I am a meatatarian!

5. Pansies, petunias, geraniums, impatiens...of the four mentioned, which is your favorite in a patio pot?  I always think the impatiens look so pretty in hanging baskets.   Will there be pots on your patio this spring? (Or whenever spring comes to your part of the globe?)   Nope.  I kill plants.  Who does the gardening at your house?  Neither of us cares for yard work or plants.

6. When did you last (literally or figuratively) shout "Mayday, Mayday!"  Gosh, I don't even remember.  Maybe last year when Lucy got out. I was pretty panicked then.

7.  Say farewell to your April in ten words or less.  April?  What happened to March?  What day is it?

8.  Insert your own random thought here.  Things are beginning to loosen up a bit here in Florida. I just hope folks remember to still be cautious and careful with their health and that of others.  We can't rush back into life like gangbusters.  Take it easy and use some common sense.  I'm ready!!

Thanks for your visit!!

Peace & hugs!!  God bless!!

  1. Hmmm, your Wednesday hodgepodge is different than another one I just read. But I would love some of your homemade vegetable beef soup. I haven't had a good beef pot roast in a long time, and I love soup made from it. I love a good hamburger now and then. My hubby always orders hamburgers when we go out to eat..when was that last? I don't remember now, it has been so long!! I am looking forward to going out to eat again and being waited on. LOL.

  2. You have different questions than the others I've seen or me. Wow, time is really passing quickly. I can't believe it's almost time for your knee surgery! Have a blessed day, Terri!

    1. This is the one that showed up in my feed. It seemed weird... I even went back twice since the date didn't work. Joyce doesn't make mistakes like that. Very strange. I will find the right one and will do it tomorrow.

  4. I love impatiens too, Terri, and really miss not having flowers on our deck this year due to the pandemic. There's certainly hope for next year, though! Here in Georgia, we are opening up some things, too, but Danny and I will still stay home as we are at high risk. Enjoy your day!

  5. I agree, the world is not black and white, more like a murky gray, grin. I forgot all about the HP this week.

    Have a great day Terri!!!

  6. Love beef stew when made from leftover roast; am a big hamburger fan; love flowers and plants but just not able physically, to get out and plant and tend like I use to. The world is in a mess....period.

  7. Nothing like a good burger with all the fixins.... I am in on that one.

  8. Wow that knee surgery is coming right up! About 3 weeks, right? And as for March, it went to Wisconsin and stayed here for just about ever. We're still in the 30s and 40s, although the weekend is supposed to hit 50. Yea. I'm ready for July! That burger sounds good. I always ordered a California burger with extra fried onions. 😊

  9. I need to look up some good crock pot recipes while I'm at home to have some dinner ready when I sign off at the end of the day

  10. I love a good burger too. You usually can't go wrong with those. Happy to hear the knee surgery is scheduled. I am also happy they are lightening up the restrictions as well. We can't stay locked down forever. I won't be rushing to go get in a crowd, but I know people need to try and return to some form of normalcy and income.

  11. Your soup/stew sounds wonderful, and I'm kicking myself for not having purchased any veggies yesterday. My mother used to prophet-ize I'd turn into a hamburger someday. (Well, I still consume 'loose meat' every day and it hasn't happened yet!) Tom doesn't mind it, but I'd rather scrub toilets than work in the yard. Regardless of officials' decisions, I think it behooves all of us to act in a responsible manner -- if not for ourselves, but our loved ones.

  12. Yes indeed. We still need to be vigilant and careful.

  13. Mr D and I love hamburgers too, and usually have them once a week. Texas is beginning a slow return also, I just hope everyone uses some common sense and not rush back like gangbusters!! Because of health issues I'll be staying in a little longer, just an extra precaution.

  14. These questions are from 2013 lol. Not sure how that has happened Terri. I bet you are counting down the days to your op. I hope it doesn't get delayed.

  15. Your soup sounds good!
We are still on lock down and I hope some things start opening again, but I agree that we need to move slowly.

  16. It's going to be hard to say farewell to April since I am not sure what happened to March. On the 3rd I went back to work after being laid off 2 months during our slow time. I worked 2 weeks and got laid BACK off for the quarantine. We are supposedly going back in Mid May and will just get in the swing when June hits. So I feel like I have lost 6 months of 2020.
