A Quirky Sunday Stealing...

Thanks to Bev Sykes for this week's questions! You can find her HERE to join in!

Quirky Questions

Quirky Questions from SwapBot

 1.   Did you become what you wanted to be when you grew up?  No. Are you happy with your choice?  I wanted to be an art teacher but spent the last 20 years of my working life as an accountant in an art museum. That worked well for me.

2.    Did man really go to the moon or was it a publicity stunt?  I think we really went.

3.    Given the opportunity to change one major aspect of your life (i.e. career, relationship, family) with no guarantee of the outcome, would you take the chance?  No.  Why?  I love where I am and can't imagine changing anything.  God has always been in control of my journey.

4.    Does money buy happiness?  No.  If it did, I would be one sad girl!!  LOL

5.    What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?  Go to the bathroom to pee!  Then I feed the cats.

6.    What are we going to do when we run out of room to bury the dead?  Joe and I are being cremated. I don't want my bones buried to be dug up or discovered someday... or built over.

7.    What is your greatest fear? Why? Is it rational or unreasonable?  I sincerely don't have a great fear of anything.  God is in control and I trust Him completely.  It took a few years to get here, but here I am.

8.    How do you feel about the exploitation of your private data in the digital age? Does it ever cross your mind or are you hyper-aware of the risks?  There is so much data out there about all of us.  I hate robocalls, which are a form of exploitation. It is what it is and there isn't much we can do about it.

9.    You can be forgiven for one debt. What is it?  If you don’t have debt, then how did you do it?  Fortunately, we don't have much debt and we did it by downsizing before retiring.  I guess if someone wants to pay off our car, I'll let you!!

10.    Hot or cold?  Comfortable.

11.    What is your favorite thing in the world (aside from family, friends, pets)?  Pasta. (giggle)

12.    You have to give up one of your five senses. Which one would you go without?  I don't even want to think about it but would do my best to learn how to live without whichever one goes.

13.    Do you believe everyone has a doppelgänger? Yes. I can't tell you how many times someone says they know someone who looks like me and Facebook facial recognition is always trying to tag me as someone other than myself. Crazy.

14.    Likewise, does everyone have a soulmate or is it just a matter of proximity and circumstance?  Gosh, I don't know. Joe's mom told me once that she thought I was Joe's soulmate. That was hard to hear because his first wife, Loretta, who died too young of cancer, was a childhood friend and the mother of his two boys. I do think it was more than a circumstance that brought us together. Joe thinks Loretta was helping to direct our meeting (but that's a story I've told before).

15.    Imagine you have a theme song that plays every time you enter a room. What would your song be?  I had to go looking for one and here it is... It's called The Terri Song!! Who knew?!

(Just for the record, I would HATE having a song play every time I entered a room!)

Thanks for peeking in today!  Wishing you a good week ahead!

Peace & hugs!  God bless!!

  1. Oh, I sure did laugh when I saw what your song was. I found "The Guy Who Sings Your Name Over and Over" quite a while back and I used to look up the dementia residents names and play their song for them. They LOVED it! One lady in particular was so proud that "he knows me" and that he "sang about me on the radio." LOL I just loved how much they'd light up hearing their song. Have a blessed day, friend!

  2. Gosh, these questions have hurt my head, LOLOL.

Yes on the doppelgänger. Funny but true story, there is another David Conley with 1 SS number different, yep.

  3. That song was crazy, Terri, and no, I'd hate to hear my name over and over again in a song. And I'm in full agreement that we have doppelgangers out there. In fact, when I was in 7th grade, a girl in my class looked so much like me, that people thought we were sisters. I still remember her.
    Have a blessed Sunday!

  4. Terri, you've answered some of these difficult questions with such grace! (Glad I opted out.) I'd not heard about that songster, but that's such a cute concept. I love Stacy's story, "He knows me!" This reminds me of that old Name Game song: "Terri, Terri bo-berry! Banana-nana fo-berry …" (heh-heh)

  5. Love your answers and agree with most that would apply. I know I must have a doppelganger (although I had to look it up, and was surprised that it could be ghostly or evil, so I don't really like that idea at all), but I have had many people tell me I look just like "so and so". And of course, everyone thinks my sister and I are twins, but we definitely aren't. Recently a young woman came up to me at church (she was visiting), and told me I looked just like her dead grandma, when she was young and alive of course, she added! LOL. That just made my day. LOL>

  6. I think working at an art museum is a really good compromise for an artist!
I like to be comfortable too and not hot or cold. Loved your answers! Have a great day!

  7. That name song is a riot. I didn't find Kathy, but I found Kathryn. And I found Elaine for my sister and emailed it to her. Hearing that every time I walked into a room would drive me nuts. I liked your answers today. I think everyone has someone that looks like them. For years I was called Linda and told I had a twin in NYC. This was from all different people at all different times.

  8. There is such comfort in knowing that God is in control, His plan is better than ours and it will all be for the best!

  9. I am with you Terri....I have learned that living frugally pays off in the long run. If it had been up to me we would have had a big house when our children were younger. But we went with Marvin's plan and we were able to build Grimmwood which I would not trade for a mansion now. I have always been a worrier but as I have gotten older I have come to the place you are....trusting that God has been with me for 64 years and He will take care of me to the end.

  10. An accountant in a museum, I think it would have been interesting to see how much the museum paid for items it acquired. Cool job! And yes God is in control of it all!

    1. Most were/are donations, Cindy, or traveling exhibits that were rented for a period of time. Small museum can't afford large purchases.
