1. When was the last time you tried something new?: You know what... it has been so long that I can't even remember. That's pretty bad. Well, I did go with neighbor Jill to that new Mexican restaurant a week or so ago. So there you have it!!
2. Who in your family do you compare yourself to?: I really don't compare myself to anyone, in my family or not. What good does comparing yourself to others do?
3. What lesson in life did you learn the hard way?: To not make comparisons, perhaps! I have made many wrong decisions in my life. I guess I have learned to trust my gut and to be quiet and listen for God to speak to me. It is not always audible but rather a feeling. Trust it.
4. What can you do today that you weren't able to do before?: Now that I am retired, I can sleep late whenever I want! I can also take a short walk with my new knee which doesn't hurt now! Longer walks coming when my other knee becomes new next month!

ReplyDeleteSo good to hear that your knee is doing so well, hope the other goes as well.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day Terri! smiles
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your answers. Glad your knee is doing good.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are doing well with your knee and it will be great when both are that way. I am an only child so have no one to compare to! Have a great day my friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely header!
ReplyDeleteIn the last several years I've noticed little things about myself reminiscent of my father and/or mother. 'Not sure if what I'm feeling is comparison, but I'd love to be able to emulate certain characteristics.
That's wonderful that you are able to enjoy walking these days. After next month's surgery, you may be ready for a marathon!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
You're making me jealous of that retired life!!!!
ReplyDeleteIts funny - I just heard a thing from jennifer Garner about that - how as we get older, we dont like to try new things & that we should push ourselves to do just that... It really did open my eyes a bit to want to look for new things to try. There's always something to at least test out.
Your answer for #3 is terrific.. I totally agree!!! Have a great rest of your week!!!
ReplyDeleteTerri, I wholeheartedly agree that comparing ourselves to others is detrimental to our well-being. We should be content, and happy, in the very person God created us to be.
ReplyDeleteAnd did I mention I love retirement, too?
Blessings!
I love that you can sleep in and take walks! Little blessings that mean so much!
