Good golly, why do weekends go so fast?!!
Let's see, on Thursday afternoon we were supposed to go out for Italian food with Joe's farm clients (and our friends) Ann & Tom. We told them how good Allegria is and couldn't wait to share it with them. Unfortunately, they were both sick on Thursday so we canceled the reservations. Instead, Joe and I drove over to Brandon any way and went to Portillo's instead. The Italian beef sandwiches are "to die for" and are Joe's favorite! You can see him standing in a gray shirt, waiting for our order.
On the way home, we drove into the airport. I posted a couple of those photos on Friday but wanted to share the sandhill cranes that we saw near the parking lot.
Friday was my brother-in-law's birthday. Bruce is recovering from a massive stroke three years ago and another one just a few months ago. He is amazing in his attitude and strength, as is my sister, Tammy, who is his caregiver.
Joe and I had haircuts with Teena on Friday afternoon. It is always fun catching up with her and her family while she snips away and makes us beautiful. (wink) On the way home from the barber shop, we ordered a pizza from Valdiano's so we could share it with our neighbors, Bob & Sharon. Sharon had Achilles tendon surgery and is housebound for a few more weeks. We ate pizza with them and played a board game for a few hours. It was fun. We are blessed with great neighbors who are also friends.
I had to work on Saturday morning and we were BUSY. The time went by quickly so it was all good. I started the laundry when I got home and got all three loads done. It was nice to have nothing else to do. Saturday was also my sister, Patti's birthday!!
We went to church yesterday and we still love it there. We meet with the Pastor and Elders on Tuesday night to finalize our journey to join the church. Looking forward to that!! We also heard from Ann & Tom that they were feeling much better and could we meet at Allegria around 5:00 on Sunday evening. Of course, we could!! It was so much fun to have an evening out with them and they loved the authentic Italian food as much as we do.
This coming weekend we are heading north to visit with our son, Joey, and DIL, Darlene!! The cat sitter is lined up and we can hardly wait for Friday to get here!!
Thanks for dropping in today!! Peace & hugs! God bless!!

I love my new haircut, I just wish I could do it like she does. I am still learning with the flat iron. But it is lightweight and I think very cute!
ReplyDeleteThis report on Bruce is great. Attitude is everything, isn't it?!
ReplyDeleteI hope this week flies by so you can get to your fun next-weekend plans!
Another busy weekend for you. Sounds like you had fun. Love the cranes.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Oh, I envy your camaraderie with the neighbors! Maybe not as much as my Tom, but I miss Portillo's! I used to love their open kitchen concept, watching the employee team working so seamlessly together.
ReplyDeleteI still am just thrilled that after the search, you've both found a great church home!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your BIL is still doing well - I know every birthday has to be a celebration for him!
Busy again ...
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Sounds like a YUMMY weekend to me.:) I love Italian food as well. I hope your BIL continues to do well. I admire families who make sacrifices to keep their loved ones at home. My mom did that for my daddy and it was such a blessing.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a fantastic weekend, Terri, and an even more exciting one ahead. Safe travels, my friend!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Well you had a lot of birthdays there!! And you got all your laundry done. You are a busy girl - but very happy.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've been busy with a lot of wonderful things, and lots of good food! And now you are taking a little trip this weekend...so wonderful for you both to get away. I hope it will be cooler wherever you go!! Enjoy your time. Sorry we couldn't come down this week, but it is a good thing. We are showing the house this Wed., so please pray!! Take care and have a blessed week.
ReplyDeletePrayers lifted!!
DeleteSounds like a wonderful weekend... Indeed, friends are so important.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, that picture of Joe at Portillo's made me tear up. We have such warm memories of being there with you and Joe.
ReplyDeleteYour upcoming weekend sounds wonderful! So you have a cat sitter? Is it someone who will stay at your house or just stop in to feed, etc? How did you find the person? We're getting worried about a long camping weekend we have coming up. It's taking forever for Jenn to find the right house to buy, and I guess we're stuck with these cats till she does.
