Enough complaining and on to my recap...
Friday was our odd day to visit the farm/ranch. The clients had been on vacation and didn't get home until Wednesday (our usual day). I had Thursday plans so Friday was the day. I did get to interact with the animals, which I LOVE doing. Joe just gets to sit in the office doing book work.
The guinea hens were everywhere and this group was especially
noisy. They run away when they think someone is coming, but here they are.
This is Doc. He is my buddy. I would love to try riding him
but I understand he likes to buck his riders.
(I am NOT a trained rider - only trail rides.)
This one is Barbie. She is being re-trained now to handle
riders better. I don't think any of them but the granddaughter's
Majesty gets ridden enough.
I think this one is Vanna.
So here is one group of goats (there are several). They are waiting
for the ranch employee (her) to feed them... watching her every move.
...and here she is feeding them! They followed her like she was the
Pied Piper. It was so cute! You can click on the photos to see them better.
Since it was Friday, we stopped at Palace Pizza on our way home from the ranch for a cheese pizza. It fed us for lunch and supper (no meat).
On Saturday we got up early (for us) and went to the Hole In One donut shop for a very sweet breakfast. It is a very popular place for good reason. They make the best donuts in the county and the coffee is great too.
From there we went to Sam's Club for gasoline (least expensive in town, always), then to Bealls to check out the weekend sales. Joe got new PJ bottoms and I got two pairs of capris. From there, we went to Lowes, which is right next door, and got some Roundup weed killer and a new plant for our Pink Floyd Flamingo planter. When the weeds die we will cover the rocks with some mulch to brighten our front bed up. Pink Floyd looks much better now, anyway!
On Sunday, we got up early again and headed south to Punta Gorda for lunch with our grandson, Tristan, and his mom. Tris is home from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas. He will be a senior next year, finishing his junior year in May. He will graduate with two degrees, cramming in the equivalent of five years in four. He told us he will carry six classes this next semester. All he does is study. He is excited to have a 10-week paid internship this summer, in St. Louis, with a Fortune 10 company, in their Engineering & Operations center. This means we won't see him again until Christmas, most likely. :(
We have been meeting them at the Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda when we can.
They live in Naples, so Punta Gorda is about halfway for each of us (90 minutes each).
We meet at the Captains Table, which is right on the water and has
delicious seafood. I had fish & chips.
It was overcast and looked like rain, but we never got any.

The sun came out by the time we left.

So that was our weekend. In between all the running, we just relaxed. I hope you all spent your weekend just the way you wanted to. Thanks for stopping by! Peace & hugs.

You had a busy weekend! Hope you have some time to just relax this week. Tristan sounds like a wonderful young man. And so smart. I don't think I could keep up with that much school work. Glad you had time with him and his mom.

ReplyDeleteA dear friend of mine has some guinea hens, that she lets roam her yard. They live outside the city limits and it's allowed there. I love to visit her, we sit on her porch and she will call out, c'mon on girls, and the hens come running. They know she's going to throw some seed out for their enjoyment. So much fun!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun time!
ReplyDeleteThe animal pictures are always entertaining. Those goats!!! Ha-ha!
ReplyDeleteI also like your Easter blog design!
I'm messed up with the time change too. I don't know of anyone who likes it!
