Friday Foto Friends...

It is always fun to link up with Debbie at Breathing In Grace for her Friday Foto Friends meme!!  You can join in HERE and show off some of your photos!

Joe and I had a busy Thursday!  It started with Joe's appointment for fasting labs at the VA clinic.  I should add that his appointment was at 7:30 a.m.!!  Whoa!  Who gets up that early?!  I drove him to the appointment, and when we got home we showered, had breakfast and then headed out again.  Our car has been filthy dirty for a few weeks. Going to the farm gets it dirty, but it was muddy a couple of weeks ago and there is no driving around the mud and wet sand there.  That also meant that what was on our shoes also showed up on the floor mats.  Nasty.  We took it to Mister Car Wash. They do a really nice job.  Always busy, but it goes pretty fast.

From there we headed south to Bartow Ford for an oil change.  We were a couple thousand miles overdue.  Our first oil change was free with the coupon we got when we bought the Escape so it only cost us our time.  We pulled into the "Quick Lane" and were told it would only be about 90 minutes. Ha!! Real quick!  It is nice that they provide a little cafe, some comfy chairs, and several big-screen TVs while you wait.

Joe was more impatient than me for a change!

Lowe's was having a sale on mulch and I wanted black mulch for our front flower bed, so from Bartow Ford, we went to Lowe's.  It was nice that they loaded the mulch for us, but we really needed someone at home to help unload. We ain't as young as we used to be!  LOL  But got it done!!

I blogged about Pink Floyd Flamingo before.
Here he is in all his glory now.

I am not a flower/plant person and told Joe we were going with
a minimalist look.  Floyd is all we need and I can change
out the flowers/plants as the seasons change.
He enjoys being the center of attention!  (wink)

We had just enough time to get cleaned up and ready for a Soup & Sandwich event up at our Clubhouse.  The tickets were $5.00 each and for that we got our choice of chicken noodle soup or vegetable soup, a grilled cheese sandwich or a ham salad sandwich, a bag of chips and a beverage (lemonade or coffee).  Not bad and I didn't have to make supper!!  This event was a fundraiser to buy some new things for the kitchen, so it was a good cause too.

We got home in time for Joe to watch his Villanova Wildcats play in the basketball tournament.

Quite the day, yesterday.  Today I need to get the guest room ready for company, plan a few meals and make a grocery list.  Elaine and Jim won't arrive until later Saturday so I have time to get some baking done too!!

Happy Friday! Thanks for stopping by!  Peace & hugs.

  1. Terri, moving mulch is a superpower. Those bags are heavy! Wow. I am amazed.

"I blogged about Pink Floyd Flamingo before."

Haha...I imagine the band members seeing that and shuddering in horror at what their name has become. ;-) ...or giggling delightedly.

    3. The mulch was beyond heavy! And Joe can't help with it right now so it was all up to me. I'm feeling it today.

  2. I really like that pink flamingo. Do you know why flamingos stand on one leg, Terri? Because if they didn't they would fall over.

    God bless.

  3. Terri, I love "Pink Floyd Flamingo"...I must go find that previous post to read about him...did you link it? My friend Paula, (that you met here) and I have had a long standing Pink Flamingo frenzy throughout the years...all the way from NH, out to Kansas, back to Maine, and down to Florida, our "Pinky" flamingo has traversed some miles to entertain and surprise us as the craziest times. The latest was for her birthday a couple of weeks ago. The original pinky is long gone, but he lives on in different manifestations year after year. I love what you did with your Pink Floyd Flamingo, standing by "the wall"...(remember "Just another brick in the wall" by Pink Floyd?) Good pictures today...you did have a long, busy day. Glad you didn't have to cook supper. And now you are having company. I guess we won't come visit you on the spur of the moment...just kidding...we aren't going to be able to catch a ball game this year. Maybe next...Have a wonderful weekend!!! And don't be carrying anymore bags of dirt...that IS heavy stuff!!

    1. Pam, I did not link to the flamingo story. It belonged to my former boss, Claire, and I "won" it in a white elephant Christmas exchange when I was invited to the staff Christmas Party. I LOVE it. It's a running joke about Italians having pink flamingos in their yards, so we have had some fun with it over the years too.

  4. Your gardens look nice with black mulch. I'm not so good at gardening so we mulch our flower beds too. I really do love your flamingo. Love his name too. :)
Have a great weekend with your friends!

  5. Since we parked in opposite ends of the parking lot when we met up with you in Ocala, there was no opportunity for us to discover that you have a Ford Escape. We have two! (his 'n hers)

Love Pink Floyd! He looks great!

Have a wonderful visit with Elaine and her husband.

  11. I love Pink Floyd, he looks great as the center of attention. Our yard man has just put fresh black dirt in our beds, it looks so nice. Mr D and I couldn't do it this year, our health is not as it should be, but we're getting better every day. I'm happy we have a guy that comes and does it for us.
