Weekend Recap on Monday AND the 15th August Happiness Challenge....

We had a great weekend full of family.  Tristan arrived about an hour before Joey and Darlene got here on Friday evening.  After the hugs and greetings and unloading suitcases, we went out to dinner at Miller's Ale House.  Ours has very good food and a plus is that they have a vegan and a gluten-free menu.  Darlene likes to eat vegetarian so it is a favorite place for us to go when they are visiting.  Back at home, we watched a movie and then headed off to bed.

Saturday was just hanging out and that was great.  There was swimming, including the puppies, and Joe and Tristan spent a good bit of time going through old family photos.  Darlene and I watched some HGTV and some Olympics were also worked in here and there. Saturday evening, we ate pasta and salad and had pie and ice cream for dessert. We also watched a couple more movies....

Sunday morning, we got up in stages and just had coffee and pastries as we wanted something.  I offered to make pancakes, bacon and eggs, but no one wanted that much....and the danish was good, so who needed more than that?!

Joe and Darlene left around 11:30 and Tristan left around noon.  They all arrived home safely, praise God.  I even had time to get the laundry done!!

I neglected the Happiness Challenge on Sunday's post, so I'll post the 14th and 15th here together...

This photo is of some wind chimes hanging out on the patio.  They were 'chiming' while I sat out there with everyone on Saturday and the sound made me smile.  I got the chimes from my physical therapist quite a few years ago when I had rotator cuff surgery.  She and I talked during my sessions and we found out we had liking frogs in common.  FROG....fully rely on God.  She had these chimes and had no place to hang them in her apartment, so she brought them in and gave them to me.  How nice was that?!

And this is Vinny, who is our only lap-sitter.  He climbs into my lap whenever the computer isn't there and goes to sleep immediately. He is my huggy boy, but won't let me pick him up.  It has to be on his terms.  Vinny climbing into my lap always makes me happy!!

I wish you all a blessed week ahead and appreciate your visit today!  Peace & hugs.!!

  7. Loved that your weekend with family was so laid back. Looks like a great time. The FROG chimes are really nice and I would like to have chimes, but they bother DH! We motorcycles with a group of Christian bikers and one of the ladies had a three wheel motorcycle that was painted green, with big frog eyes on the headlights with long eyelashes and a big smile, and FROG on the back. Fully rely on God! Wish I had a pic for you.

  10. Your weekend sounds perfect ... no stress, no muss, no fuss!

Pretty neat that Tristan is interested in old family photos and lore. Hard to say by their expressions, who enjoyed that stroll down memory lane more?

I'll not be forgetting that F.R.O.G. anagram anytime soon!
