Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 252
Well that was quick! It's once again time for the Wednesday Hodgepodge. Answer on your own blog then skate back here tomorrow to share answers with the universe. See you there!
1. Speaking of skating...when did you last 'skate on thin ice', 'skate over the details', 'encounter a cheapskate', or just plain skate? Gosh...I can be a cheapskate; I avoid thin ice as much as possible; I can't skate over details - my job is all about details; the last time I skated was years and years and years ago, with granddaughter Lauren.

3. What's your favorite accessory? I don't have a favorite pair, but I always wear earrings. Is it something you wear every day, often, or only on special occasions? I wear earrings every day. I have more pairs than I need.

5. What's something guaranteed to make you roll your eyes? Boys with their underwear showing. Dumbest thing I've ever seen and I don't understand it at all.
6. Your favorite book series? I have so many!! Harry Potter, by J.K. Rowling; The Warriors series (about cats) by Erin Hunter; The Mitford Series by Jan Karon; Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich.....
7. Why did you choose your profession? I didn't choose it....it sort of chose me. I just fell into it, actually, and it stuck.
8. Insert your own random thought here. Happy to have Joe feeling better. He sees his regular doctor today (cardiologist on Monday), and we are anxious to see what his numbers are.
I am still in shock about the death of my blogging friend, Brenda Bussell. Most of us don't ever get to meet in person, but strong friendships are formed here and I will really miss her on Facebook and here on Blogger. After so many years, it feels like we know each other as if we lived next door (at least that's how I feel). Prayers for her family in Ohio. She chose to not share her cancer diagnosis with us, which is her privilege and choice, but I feel bad that prayers could have been lifted, and we also didn't get to say good-bye.
Thanks for your visit today! Hump day always feels good! Peace & hugs.

So sorry about the death of your friend...so very sad, and I understand your feelings...such camaraderie amongst bloggers. Glad Mr. Joe is feeling better...which makes you feel better, too. Hope you have a great Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya on #2. The aches, pains and changes of getting older. I suppose everyday is a new day to embrace and be thankful for good health in spite of the changes. Enjoy your Wednesday. BTW: boys and their underwear - AMEN! Pull those britches up I say.
ReplyDeleteI did not know Brenda, so very sorry. I too am glad Joe is feeling better, please keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteAs always, I enjoyed your answers. Blessings
Sorry about your loss of your friend. Prayers to you. I love mac n cheese too its so good especially homemade. Glad Joe is feeling better. I hope you have a great day. Loved your answers. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your blogging friend, Terri. I have a friend who was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I understand people's need for privacy, but when it comes to prayer, the more the better (and I did ask first before putting it on a blog post). God works through the prayers of his people. SO glad to hear that Joe is feeling better. I hope things go in a steady upward trend. Many blessings on your day.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your friend Brenda...
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree completely w/your assessment of boys allowing their undies to show. So gross!
sorry for the loss of your friend.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about the death of your blogging friend. I, too, feel 'attached' to my blogging friends :)
ReplyDeleteOn a happier note, I'm glad to hear Joe's feeling better!
Enjoy the rest of your week!
Kathy (from Reflections)
Hi! stopping by from the link up. I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your blogging friend. I have met so many wonderful people through blogging and I know how hard that is. Hope all turns out well with Joe! Looks like you enjoy reading as much as I do :-) Great to "meet" you. Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Jill
I'm sorry for the loss of your blog friend. We do feel like we know one another, even if we haven't met in real life. There's a wonderful praying community out there too. Have you read the series by Thomas Perry featuring Jane Whitfield? It's older but so good! Check it out if you haven't...the first is called Vanishing Act and you need to read them in order.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joyce. I'll look for the Thomas Perry series!
DeleteI fell in love with the Mitford series!Good news about Joe! Hope the Dr sees great results. However, I am so sorry about your loss. You are right, bloggers have become great friends, even if they don't live next to you. Hope you find peace and happiness today, Terri!
ReplyDeleteI haven't skated in years either and I try to stay off the ice too! Getting old is not for sissies - and the young don't get it. I am very sorry for the death of your blogger friend - I have lost a couple too and they hurt just as bad. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteThe Stephanie Plum series used to literally make me LOL! That grandma was something else! I read a lot of them, but then lost track of which one I was on.
ReplyDeleteHate to hear that about your blogging friend. Hope your have a blessed day.
ReplyDelete'Getting old ain't for sissies,' Mr D says that all the time and has for many years. One day I was in Walmart and saw a fridge magnet that had that on it! Yes, I bought it and it's still on our fridge! Hope hubby gets a great report from the doctor and I'm sorry about the loss of your friend. Hope you had a great day!
ReplyDeleteI love cheese too! Yes, on #5!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments. I believe that the decision on whether to carry concealed or not is a profoundly serious and personal one. Enjoy your Florida warmth while we freeze our whatsits off.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm just going to have to consciously come and find you each week, your blogs never showed up in my list...I thought you weren't blogging and I was getting concerned. I'm so sorry about your friend, I agree with you about strong friendships being formed here - I have a few I would miss dearly, you being one of them. It's so sad you didn't get to say goodbye to her. HUGS!
