Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 246
Can you believe it's December? It's also time for another round of Hodgepodging, Volume 246 to be exact. Answer the questions on your blog then hop back here tomorrow to share answers with all your friends and neighbors.
1. Did you watch The Charlie Brown Christmas special Monday night? Who's your favorite Peanuts character and why? I did not watch it, but do enjoy Charlie Brown and the Peanuts characters. I went to THIS very fun site and made myself a Peanuts character!

Would you agree? I've never done it, but believe that sitting in a pumpkin patch could certainly be excellent therapy for a troubled (or just a very busy) mind. Sitting quietly in nature of any kind, any where would work the same.
2. Describe a sound from your childhood. My mom singing "On Blueberry Hill" with the radio in the kitchen while she worked. She sang a lot, but for some reason that song sticks with me. What does this sound bring to mind? My sweet mother. I was very young then. Later (I was 9 years old), that song changes to Ricky Nelson singing 'Tavelin' Man' from the jukebox at the swimming pool. I can almost smell the chlorine!
3. You've won a trip to a winter wonderland...would that excite you? Absolutely not. Which one of the following would you most want to experience (or which one would you dislike the least)-see the Aurora Borealis in Norway, stay in Sweden's Ice Hotel, go dogsledding in Lapland Finland, take a winter wildlife safari in Yellowstone or celebrate Winter Carnival in Quebec? Since I recently found out (through Ancestry.com DNA testing) that I am 19% Scandanavian, I would choose Norway...no ice hotels for me in Sweden or dogsledding in Finland. I'd go there in the warmer months though!
4. Who or what keeps you humble? Joe. He calls me on stuff all the time. LOL
5. What part of preparing for Christmas do you like the most? Shopping for others. Explain. I really enjoy giving gifts and am so happy when I know I found something someone will love. It is hard now, with the kids all grown up and everyone so far away.
6. Gingerbread-yay or nay? I like a very moist gingerbread. Is making a gingerbread house part of your family holiday tradition? No. Have never participated in that.
7. What's one thing you want to start, do, or complete before the calendar rolls into a new year? I can't think of a thing, and that's a good thing, since the year is nearly done.
8. Insert your own random thought here. We were out shopping Monday night and got a new garland for around the front door. I think we are both beginning to catch the spirit of the season. Maybe that tree will find its way out of the attic after all.
Thanks for your visit today!! It's hump day so Friday is coming....I can see it!!
Peace & hugs!!

Winters in east Tennessee are plenty cold enough for me...especially when there's snow in the Smokies. I seem to be in the Christmas spirit more this year than in recent years past. I'm really enjoying the tree lights. Happy Wednesday!!!
ReplyDeleteI did not watch it, but I do like Charlie Brown and the Peanuts characters. And I would enjoy a trip anywhere!
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch Peanuts this year. I usually do. Maybe they will replay it.
ReplyDeleteYour Peanuts picture is adorable! I tried that site a couple of months ago but I didn't look anywhere as good as you do!
ReplyDeleteI had to smile about your answer for the cold vacation trip because I remembered that you have escaped Ohio's cold and not looked back.
As for the sounds from our childhood, I, too, was a fan of Ricky Nelson.
Since you don't have anything on your calendar, and I have too many things on mine, I'll add some to yours. LOL. My Christmas tree, however, will be one of the quick and simple things to put together. I always enjoy reading your answers and wish you a happy Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteYou just cant beat Charlie Brown. I didnt watch it either, but have seen it so many times, I can almost say it word for word! Glad you are getting a little into the Christmas spirit...not sure I am-yet. I would love to see the northern lights, and have a dear missionary friend who lived there for years, and she says it is more beautiful than you can even imagine. Have a great 'hump' day.
ReplyDeletegood answers
ReplyDeleteI love your little Peanuts character! As far as decorating goes, I sometimes think, the longer I wait, the less important it becomes to get everything out and up. I will though, and I'll be happy when I do. :)
ReplyDeleteI like moist gingerbread, too. In fact, I'd love to have a piece right about now. This diet thing is tough...
ReplyDeleteI hope your tree makes its way out of the attic. If I can decorate 3, surely you can do one. Ha Ha Perhaps you are the smarter of the two of us???
My hubs saw the Northern Lights in Finland and went dog sledding in Canada. Both are on my list! Happy decorating...we're getting started here too : )
ReplyDeleteMy dad use to sing Blueberry Hill in the car as he drove me places.
ReplyDeleteI was out at Michael's craft store tonight and noticed many more people seemed to be out shopping. Then the tree lighting at Rockefeller Center on TV tonight, so I'm getting in the mood to decorate. I love my fall decorations but it is time to take them down. Blueberry Hill, what a great song!
ReplyDeleteLove your Peanuts character. You have to get the tree down. Got mine down from the loft yesterday but probably won't put it up until the weekend. Enjoy the rest of your week:)
