Our trip 'down south'.....

Good Sunday morning!  We are back from our trip to Pompano Beach and Boca Raton.  As it turned out, the office building where Joe was working with his client, is only eight miles from our granddaughter's apartment building.  It couldn't have worked out any better, unless it was across the street, for goodness sake!

Joe's work went well. He has been doing the audit there for many years.  While he worked, I finished my book, drove around for a little while - found some beautiful mansions on the water, with yachts docked at back doors - and looked for a place to get my nails done, but they all looked nasty, so I didn't get that done (I didn't look too hard, and was only looking on a whim).  Tried to stop at Costco, but couldn't get a parking place closer than two football fields away, so didn't stop there either.  Joe and I did get to have lunch together, which was nice.  I even took a little nap, in the car, when I got back to the office building. His client doesn't know I am with Joe. Better kept a secret!!

At 5:30ish, we found Lauren's apartment (and Lauren!).  Took our bags in and said hello to Catherine (her cat).  We then went out to dinner, at Maggiano's.  Delicious!!  We got our free take-homes and Lauren has enough food for two or three days!  Spent the evening talking and watching some TV.  She had us sleep in her room, and she took the pull-out sofa.  Sweet girl.  We were comfortable and she swears she was too.

Yesterday, after we slept late and had coffee, we took off to find something for an early lunch and to run by Lauren's place of employment.  She loves her job, working in the plasma division of a pharmaceutical company.  We got back to her place, got good-bye hugs and left around 1:30.  We decided to detour a bit on our way back to the Florida Turnpike, for a look at 'downtown' Boca and a glimpse of the Atlantic Ocean. There was rain most of the day (off and on) Friday, but yesterday was gorgeous.  Our trip home was an easy (if long) one.  Our fur-babies were happy we got home, though our neighbors take good care of them for us.

I took a few photos, but none inside Lauren's apartment.  She hasn't hung all of her art yet, and she still has boxes to unpack.  I will say her place is darling and will look great when she gets it all put together!  The kitchen has stainless appliances and granite counter tops.  She has a washer/dryer and a huge bathroom, with a spa tub. There is a great community swimming pool, a gym and a lovely 'clubhouse'.  It is gated, and safe, which is a good thing.

 The view from Lauren's balcony.

Lauren and her pretty cat, Catherine (Cassie for short).

 Lauren's apartment building.

 Lauren's work.

There are several buildings in the company's complex, and this is Lauren's building.

On our way home, with a detour to see the beach.

It is good to be home! Busy week ahead!!  Thanks for stopping by!  Peace, love & hugs.

  5. So glad you had a wonderful trip! I really enjoy reading what you write even when I don't have time to respond because life stays really busy with Benjamin here. I devote myself to him during his waking hours. Besides art projects and reading, we do an educational program on the computer called ABC Mouse. He loves it and it is amazing how much he is learning!
