1. Today is National Christmas Card Day - do you send Christmas Cards?
Yes, we send over 100 Christmas cards. I'm working on them this week.
2. What item do you "always" buy when it goes on sale at the Grocery Store?
I don't buy things we don't need, just because they are on sale. I can't think of one specific thing I wait for to get when it is on sale. I do like the bogo sales at Publix, though.
3. Certain flavours are associated with Christmas/December - what flavor do you most associate with the holiday season?
Peanut butter Buckeyes, and red velvet cake.
4. Do you think gift cards are a good idea for Christmas or are they a cop-out?
I think gift cards are an excellent gift. We give them, and enjoy getting them. The sales after Christmas are so great - and that's the best time to use those gift cards!!

I agree on the gift cards, especially with my older grandchildren. I am old and don't know the fashion of teenagers these days, so a gift card is perfect so they can choose what they want and like. I also don't wait to shop for bargains at the grocery....I buy only what we need. I used to send cards, but not any longer due to $$$$ being short these days. Have a good Monday.
ReplyDeleteI think gift cards are wonderful too. I finished my cards last night. We send out over 100 too. I know a lot of people aren't doing it anymore, but I think it's a big blessing to receive them.

ReplyDeleteThe gift cards are definitely a good thing and always appreciated. The Red Velvet cake I always associated with Valentine's Day. Love that cake. But I don't know what peanut butter buckeyes are.

I'm guilty of buying certain things when I find them on sale, but they're always non-persishable things like dishwashing liquid. Oh, and I can't run out of toilet paper.
ReplyDeleteI've just tried one of the buckeyes I've made, although my favourites are the teacakes that some people call Mexican wedding cookies or Russian teacakes.
Gift cards are a wonderful idea because you can use them for what you want. I have a friend who is very hard to buy for.
I love gift cards - I think it's the perfect gift! And I don't send out cards anymore. So expensive. Sandie
