The weekend is here....

Sometimes it seems like short weeks are longer than a Monday-Friday week.  This week was one of those long weeks, but I will say that I got a lot done at work.  I'm not usually a procrastinator.  I normally tackle that  project I really don't want to do, so that it's done and off my plate.  I had three projects that I have been shuffling to the bottom of the stack (so to speak) and I finally got them DONE.  Monday will look much nicer to me next week!!

On a more somber note...

This morning, one of my co-workers came to my office and surprised me by asking me to pray for his niece. I had no idea that this man was a believer, or that he knew I was.  I felt bad, thinking he came in to ask for a payroll advance, or to complain about something.  He said his mom had just called to tell him that his 13-year old niece was in the hospital, with no brain activity.  She had a seizure disorder, evidently had a seizure while in the bathtub, and her mom found her under water and not breathing.  A horrid situation for her parents.  I just can't imagine.  I told him I would pray for her and her family, and would ask my friends to also pray for her.  I asked for prayer on FB this morning, and thank those who offered prayers.  Later today, he told me that she died.  So very sad.

Deep breath...

I got home, and Joe wanted pizza for dinner.  I am always ready for pizza.  No cooking, no dishes to do.  Tomorrow, nothing on the calendar and I didn't get either of the invitations sent out to the neighbors or our long-lost friend (see yesterday's blog).  We'll work on that for next week.  I'll do some cleaning, and get the laundry done and hopefully relax.  Mega-boring stuff!

We're getting rain and pressure surges from Isaac's spawn...Tropical Storm Nadine.  No threat to us, except for rain all weekend.  Gives me a good excuse to stay in and be lazy, perhaps!!

Wishing everyone a good evening and weekend!  Peace, love & hugs.

  3. That is so sad. My heart goes out to the family. I also love those pizza nights.... no work to do. :)
We've had rain all day today and more is expected for the weekend. Not good for the Hot Air Balloon festival at the fairgrounds.
    You have a good weekend.

  4. "the best laid plans of mice and men..." Taking another week to make plans to entertain will be better. Glad you got a lot done at work, and as you said, Monday wont look so bad! As I am not one that likes to cook, I love the times when Jim says, lets go here or there and I am first in the car! Sorry about the rain, but we are due today too. Hope you get the dreaded household chores done so you can relax tomorrow. Hugs!

  5. I always try to get those kinds of tasks done first too. Always a good feeling to know they are done.

We've been getting a lot of rain lately too.

    Enjoy your weekend

  6. Enjoy the weekend, I mowed last night, big task done for another couple weeks. Checking things off my list until I fly out on Thurs for a long weekend with family in Minnesota. I'm the birthday girl this weekend, so pampering myself.

  7. That poor family will have a rough time for awhile fighting grief and probably guilt that they didn't find her faster.

We are in Ontario. The local fall fair was washed out today so the grand-girls are hoping for drier weather tomorrow. They have all day passes for as many rides at the carnival part as they want.

  8. I was praying for her and was so sad when I had seen she had passed away. I don't know how a parent can handle this. Keeping them in my prayers as they grieve the loss of their daughter.
