Monday, Monday....

That's almost what my IN BOX looked like, after Saturday's mail was distributed this morning.  I got pretty caught up last week and felt good leaving on Friday....but wow.  I guess it's job security!  LOL

This will be a looonnggg week for us here at the Museum.  Saturday is our annual Family Day, and it's all hands on deck.  I have an easy job, though.  I get to be up here, out of the chaos, answering phones from 10:00 - 1:00.  Not bad.  They take pity on us old folks, and I'm happy to take advantage of it!!  We get between 1,800 and 2,000  people through on Family Day, and most are kids.  We have magic, story-telling, face painting, art projects, lots of balloons....it's a good thing we do for the community - all FREE!  The first 750 kids in line get a bag full of art supplies to take home, too (we get a grant to pay for that part!).

Tomorrow, I have my annual eye exam scheduled, so will be off from 2:00 until the end of the day.  My appointment is for 2:40, but that means I'll be lucky to be seen by 3:40.  Last year, there was a slight change, but the eye doc told me it wasn't enough to warrant buying new glasses, unless I just wanted to.  Who wants to spend that kind of money if you don't have too?  Not me.  I have vision insurance, and it is still too expensive!  This time, though, I think I will have to invest.  I have such a hard time focusing distance after spending the day in front of my computer.  I'm going to have to do something about that.  I can see close just fine without my glasses on.  I take them off to read, actually.  But the computer screen is far enough away that I need some help, and then that messes up my focus for distance.  Bifocals and astigmatism - ick.  I notice it driving home, when I can't see the street signs like I know I should.  I guess I'll find out tomorrow!

I need to get back at that pile of mail.  Hope you are all having a good Monday!  Peace, love & hugs.

  1. Sorry you went back to a full stack of work, but knowing you, you will have it done by the end of the day. Sounds like the weekend will be a fun one. As I have deleted my Multiply, is it coming along and looking good to you?

    1. No changes at Multiply, Linda. Just fewer and fewer people posting. I haven't looked at the "new" Multiply, since I decided I'm not going there.

  2. Walt has vision insurance too but it still costs him at least $200-$300 every time he needs new glasses. I am going to have to get my eyes looked at. I have to keep whatever I am reading far from my eyes in order to read it. Sounds like you have a good job for family day! I think that is so awesome of the museum to put on day like this! Have a wonderful week, Terri!

  3. You are exactly describing my vision problems. I hope you find a fix and let me know so I can do it too. I got a new prescription last winter but got headaches because she tried to overcorrect for my astigmatism. I got new lenses for free but still have trouble with signs and I am the navigator when we travel. Looking up from a map or the GPS to read actual signs is frightening because we are right at them before I can read the words and sometimes there are too many before we are past it. Frustration city.

  5. Hope th eye exam goes well. I make the screen bigger on the computer so I don't have to use my stronger magnifiers. I get mine at Sam's club 4 pairs for $20.

  6. I never had a problem reading until a few years ago. Darn old age. lol I wear reading glasses from the store. Eventually I will need to get real glasses but with no insurance these will have to do. I only wear them when I read or am on computer. I look like an old lady wearing them down on my nose. lol
    Have fun at Family Day!

  8. I've worn glasses since I was 8 years old. My vision worsens every year. I know the trials of poor vision. I hope your new prescription works well for you.
