Good Monday morning, and hello December!!
I started putting the Fall decorations away and dragging out boxes of Christmas stuff on Friday. I did get my tree in position and decorated, put wreaths in the front windows and at both doors, got some greenery on the porch railing, and various other this and that, here and there! I've not taken pictures of everything yet, but here is my little tree.
Yesterday, I did my two loads of laundry after church. I also made a big pot of Williamsburg Turkey Soup with the rest of the Thanksgiving turkey. I found that recipe years ago, and it is so good. I don't think I've made it in a few years. I have some in the fridge for the next couple of days and froze a big portion to have when my son, Jeff, is here (for my birthday week!!!). I linked the recipe, but I have never used the carcass of the turkey. I use four quarts of chicken broth. I also use instant rice. The roux is important, though, and makes it so creamy!! This is a picture of my dinner last night...
I got started doing my Christmas cards last night. I want to get them done this week and ready to mail next week. This coming weekend, I will be driving down to Naples, catching a ride with friends to go on to Key Largo for my granddaughter Lauren's wedding! It sure got here fast! I am so happy to not be driving 6.5 miles by myself.
I am driving Anne and Paul to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa today, and again on Friday. They will have to stay there for six days while Paul gets another round of chemo, preparing him for a bone marrow transplant after the first of the year. Keep him on your prayer list, please.
Tomorrow, I am going to Tampa Zoo with my friend, Cheryl. She got tickets to use when her granddaughter was here, but they didn't use them. She invited me to go before they're no longer good. I've lived here in Tampa Bay (Lakeland is considered part of Tampa Bay) for 36 years and have never visited the zoo. I have a dermatologist appointment on Wednesday, Bible Study, and the dinner group on Thursday. That's my week!!
