Cheers to all of us thieves!

Stolen from Daily Good

1) What teacher are you most thankful for and why? Oh, I am thankful for all of my teachers (and teachers everywhere!)  God bless them!  What did you learn from him or her?  My all-time favorite teacher was probably my music teacher, Mr. Hoeltzel, or Mrs. Buskirk, my art teacher, or Mrs. Finke, my science teacher....then there was Mrs. Everhart, my 2nd-grade teacher, and Mrs. Gablehouse, my 4th-grade teacher... I loved school and didn't really have a teacher I didn't like.

2) What’s the season you’re most thankful for, and what’s your favorite part of each season?  Well, I am thankful for every season of the year and for every season of my life, but if we are talking about THIS time of year, I just lump Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year holidays all together and call it a most wonderful time of year.

3) What electronic device are you most grateful for, and what does it add to your life?  My computer.  It keeps me informed and in touch and that includes the friendships formed with all of you, right here on Blogger!

4) What musician or type of music are you most thankful for?  I am not a fan of rap, heavy metal, or opera.  I can handle a little of them, but not for long. Other than those, I like music and listen to country, jazz, oldies, and Christian music.  I don't necessarily have a favorite muscian.

5) What are you most grateful for that brings beauty to your daily life?  The people in my life, both family and friends, bring all the beauty I need in my life.  Thank you all!!

6) What philanthropic cause or organization do you feel thankful for?  I am thankful for my son and daughter-in-law's horse sanctuary; for the art museum where I worked for 20 years; my church is a non-profit that feeds my soul...

7) What foods are you most thankful for?  Pasta, spicy Mexican, and delicious Vietnamese food. But, really I am just thankful that my pantry and freezer are full.

8) What local store or restaurant are you most grateful for?  How does it contribute to your quality of life?  See #8.  Il Forno Italian, Tapa Tios Mexican, and Gosh Vietnamese.  As to the quality of life?  My quality of life isn't dependent on stores or restaurants but I am always pleased to have meals at any of them.

9) What book are you most grateful for, and why? The Bible, hands down. I don't think I need to explain why. It speaks truth and gives us all we need to get through a day, a week, a month, a year. Faith, hope, and love.

10) What act of kindness has made the greatest difference in your life?  When Joe died earlier this year, so many people were so kind.  I especially have to mention my BFF Elaine and her husband who were here for me and made a huge difference for me in so many ways that I can't even put them into words. I am so very blessed.

11) What challenging experience has ended up changing your life for the better?  My divorce back in 1981. Enough said.

12) What vacation are you most grateful for?  Our trip to Italy in 2007.

13) Name three days in your life that you feel especially grateful for.  My birthday!  When I met Joe on August 1, 1983, and our wedding day on May 11, 1985.

14) What product do you use on a daily basis that you most appreciate?  My Keurig coffee maker.

15) What, from this year, do you feel most grateful for?  That I am getting through it.  Praise God!

Peace & hugs!!

  1. Unfortunately I didn't have the best teachers. Probably close to the last child to start out in a one room schoolhouse for six grades. But we did learn to get along with various ages and in the end, one of the most important lessons to be learned.

  2. Gosh, I'm impressed how you remember all those teachers' names! Only a few (of mine) stand out; my most influential teacher was my former husband. I agree 100% about the computer being my MVP; the Keurig a close second. I've never tasted Vietnamese cooking, Terri -- what do you recommend?

    1. Pho Ga (chicken noodle soup on steroids!!). I crave it sometimes and it is better than any other chicken soup. Vietnamese food is fresher than Chinese. Check it out!

  4. What a fun post. I enjoyed your answers.
I was blessed with really good teachers because I went to school before the Teacher's Unions took over in full swing. They were REAL teachers back then, not just someone that plays a video then sits back and grades tests on it like now. We studied foreign languages, proper grammar, the classics and real history. It's appalling how undereducated youngin's are nowadays.
    Blessings. xx

  5. Your last response, #15, kind of says it all. And wow, you sure loved your teachers! I had some good ones too and am very thankful for how they helped mold me into the person I am today, at least at that stage in life. There have been many others who are not formal "teachers", but people who have influenced my life in a positive way throughout the years that I am very thankful for. Yes, the BIBLE is the BEST book of ALL. I could live without all the others in all the libraries of the world, but could not live at all without God's Word!! There is the answer to all of life's questions...and hope for eternity. Interesting food/restaurant choices. You'd go crazy here with only McDonalds, True Grits, Nana's Cafe' and Hog Wild Country Cafe'. Oh, we do have a Chinese take out and Dominoes. LOL. That's it for Interlachen! Have a blessed week my friend.

    1. All of your restaurants sound good, Pam! I really like a McDonald's big breakfast! And home-grown diners are some of the best!
