Thankful Thursday....

I love linking up with Rebecca Jo at Knit By God's Hand for Thankful Thursday!  Join in HERE!

I am so thankful that our front entrance is finished.  The railings were installed on Monday and it is safe now, to walk up and down, and it looks good too.  We had the center section installed as a gate so we can open it to move in (or out) furniture and/or big packages, etc.  It works great!  I will (humbly) admit that the gate idea was mine.

I am thankful for time spent on Tuesday with old friends, and that they took a picture with ME in it!

I am thankful that we are getting things organized and can actually have guests staying over in both guest rooms now!  We may have a houseful for Mother's Day weekend, which is the Museum's Mayfaire by-the-Lake art festival.  Joey, Darlene, Dar's mom and grandson Steve may all be here to enjoy Mayfaire (the grand-pups too).

We have a busy month ahead, and I'm thankful for that too!  More about that later!

Thanks for your visit!  Peace & hugs.

  1. The gate is a very, very clever and useful idea!! It is wonderful to have handrails - - - not just to keep a person from tumbling off the sides but to help give a "hand up" or take the pressure off the knees a bit when going down the stairs.

  4. You have two guest rooms?? That would be wonderful. Our previous house did too, except that Destiny was in the one room most of the time. This house was made with a den instead of a third bedroom, which I really do need because of my piano and so much music that I store here for my churches. But it has an archway instead of a door, so it's not easy to use it as a guest room. I hang a curtain up at the archway when we do need to have someone sleep in the room.

And then there was our farmhouse with its seven bedrooms. Some years it was full of all of us, but there were always ways to make room for more.

    1. Jean, we said we downsized but we really do have two guestrooms in our new house. Joe's office was in one of them in the old house. We have a "den" in this house for Joe's office and my craft stuff - plus the daybed fits in there, so we have another space for someone to sleep. The only thing we lost (really) was a big laundry room (we have a closet now) and the garage. Blessed.

  12. What a smart idea (the gate)! You need to patent that idea!! It all looks wonderful! So happy you are able to enjoy your friends and have room for company at your new home. You may find that you have more and more friends come a calling once you are retired!!! Isn't it fun?

  13. Love the gate! (Just wait 'til word gets round your neighborhood!)
That's a wonderful pix of you and Joe. Being the family's unofficial photographer for years, it's a nice feeling when someone offers to change places.
