A Throwback Thursday Post - All About Me....

I am so excited about something that you would think I was a little kid on Christmas Eve.  You may think I am silly, but....

I see my eye doctor early next month.  I haven't had new glasses in three years because the change in my eyes was miniscule and I couldn't see spending the money.  This time, however, I am getting new glasses. I'm tired of the ones I have now and I want something new. I'm also thinking the change will be a little more this time because I catch myself squinting now and then. I am near-sighted. I can read without my glasses, but need them for distance.

I have worn glasses since first grade.  First grade was in the 50s....

I wore contacts for awhile, but my astigmatism and the need for bifocals ended that period of my life...

I have had some pretty atrocious frames... (and hair styles)

....and some that weren't too bad... (the hair rarely changes, except it gets more gray)

...and here are my current frames...

I found some frames that I like at Walmart.  Walmart is really a great place to get your glasses.  I will never go anywhere else.  I am SO excited about my new frames that I've gone back twice to visit them and try them on again.  I just can't wait....but I have to.  My appointment with my eye doctor (not at Walmart) is October 12th and it will be at least a week before they come in, even if I go that evening to order them. I'm just beside myself about this.  I think you are thinking that this is really sad to be so excited about new glasses.

But there you have it.  I am, be it sad or not, excited about getting new glasses next month.  I will, for sure, take a picture so you can see them!!

Thanks for your visit today!  Hope I made you chuckle....I am.  Peace & hugs!!

  3. New glasses are something to be excited about, especially if they enable you to see better. I like the frames.

  5. I don't have a picture of the new frames yet - that last shot is of my current glasses. My new ones are much kickier! :)

  6. I know exactly how you feel. When I got new glasses about a year ago, it was so exciting because they were (are) purple. Yes, PURPLE....me, and purple....hard to believe, but I fell in love with them. I didn't even tell my hubby, just wanted to spring them on him. New glasses are bigger deal than a new hair-do (which is a pretty big deal!); I'd say much more important. I'm so excited to see the "new" you....be sure to post as soon as you get them. :)

  7. For those of us who, like you, have to hang glasses from our ears every single day, getting new frames is indeed a big deal. I like what you have chosen. They look really good on you.
