Yesterday was "farm day" (I go with Joe to his clients' farm and I commune with the animals while he does the accounting work). Cattle and horses, dogs and goats..... here is a peek at why I am so thankful for Wednesday farm days!
Last night Joe and I went to a benefit "red carpet" showing of "Same Kind of Different as Me". We have three excellent homeless shelters here in Lakeland. One of them, Lighthouse Ministries, got to do this fundraiser for the movie that doesn't open until Friday. I am happy to say that they filled two theaters for the event!! Thankful that we could attend and thankful for Lighthouse and the money they raised for holiday meals.
I did not read the book, so wasn't sure what to expect. When I saw several women carrying in big boxes of tissues I got the idea that it would be a tear-jerker, and it is.
The movie is really good. Joe and I both had tears. We also laughed. One of the best lines was when Denver said: "....you really have to bless the hell out of some people". Truth that.
I have to mention that (I think) Renee Zellweger ruined her face with plastic surgery. What makes a successful actress like her and several others decide to drastically change their looks? She isn't 'ugly' but she sure isn't Renee Zellweger anymore. Sighing.
