Hard Working Women
Well, it's good to see you back here at Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.
Whenever I write Tuesday 4 I will inevitably hit the 5 instead of the 4.
Oh well... Let's talk about Moms and Wives and other unpaid domestic servants.
1. Have you ever found yourself in the same position as this lady? How did you feel about it? Joe was a good helper, so no, I haven't experienced that.
2.. Women do the cooking, the cleaning up and the organizing while the rest of the family reap the rewards of that.. is it fair? I think each family is different but times are also different. Women are more likely to be working outside the home these days and in a "perfect" world, chores should be shared.
3. Vacations at air b&bs or rental homes often mean Mom does all the work. What kind of holiday or vacation would be most restful for you? That made me chuckle. I have always said camping and rentals are not a vacation if I still have to make beds, do the cooking, and the cleaning. Joe and I enjoyed sharing a beautiful house at Folly Beach with my sister, sister-in-law, and my sister's sister-in law and all of the family members. There were six bedrooms, five bathrooms, and it was right on the beach. Each family had a day for chores... shopping, cooking for everyone, and cleaning up. It worked really well... so there are exceptions to my statement above. Alternating chores makes it better when there are many hands. BUT... a vacation for me has always meant three meals in a restaurant, someone else cleaning the room, making the bed, and putting clean towels in the bathroom! LOL
4. In Proverbs 31, the wife is married to a very prominent man in town. She runs the house, has a cottage industry, owns vineyards on her own and buys and sells real estate.
What kind of woman are you? Do you hold a job.. do you do the housework.. do you find rewards in service to others or do you find it can be wearing on you or perhaps a little bit of both. I always held a full-time job but have also always taken pride in my home and I enjoy entertaining. The older I get, the more wearing it can be, though!!
What earthly rewards do you get out of the life you are living? I count my blessings every day. I have a wonderful family, many friends who are like family, a safe and comfortable home, caring neighbors, and faith in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
