Weekend Recap on Monday.....
Friday evening was our usual, spent in front of the TV finishing the last season of Bloodlines. Now we have to wait until sometime in 2017 for the next season. Wow, what a way to make us crazy waiting for the next installment.
Saturday, when we got up, I asked Joe if he was up for an adventure and of course he said yes. It really wasn't much of an adventure, but it ended up being enjoyable.
Our "north end" of town is 10 miles away from our home in Lakeland's "south end" of town, so we don't venture up that way often. We have everything we need down here....BUT
Up north, there is a GFS (Gordon Food Service) store, an ALDI, and a new antique consignment mall I heard had just opened. We took off and started at GFS. They sell restaurant-type packaged foods, meaning HUGE packages, and things aren't packaged so you can separate them like we can when we shop at Sam's Club. We bought a couple of things and headed on up to ALDI. Now that was kind of fun! We did buy about $30 worth of stuff there, mostly non-food items though. Then on to the new consignment mall. WOW. It is really great already, and will be amazing when/if they get all 300 spaces filled.
Because of a blogging friend here, I am always watching for Pyrex things. I'm not collecting and don't buy (often) but I always look because she does collect (you know who you are!). Here are some photos I took while we were there....
Sunday we were our usual lazy selves, except for getting laundry done. My day today starts with a doctor appointment - my usual check-up every four months. August is a doctor month. Tuesday is another and next week two more. In between, Joe and I have a weekend at the beach planned!! This is a short week for me with a relaxing weekend away looming ahead!!
Oh, I got to talk on the phone with Brenda Keefer, who I did a Facebook Thirty-One party with these last few weeks. We had to tidy up some last minute details before she ended the party and placed the orders. It was fun hearing a voice behind her blog...almost as good as meeting in person! Thanks again, Brenda, for all the work you did for my party...and for turning me on to looking for Pyrex!
I don't shy away from letting people know I am a conservative, but I try not to get real political here. I did find this commentary which talks about Christian views rather than harping on politics. I found it to be real interesting so will share it here for anyone interested in taking a look.
Christian View of Trump vs Hillary.
Thanks for your visit today! Happy August!! Peace & hugs!
