This and That Thursday.....

My co-worker, Maya, has started blogging and I thought I would share her latest blog with you.  It is about the importance of telling adults in our lives that we are proud of them.  We tell our children and grandchildren all the time, but when was the last time you told an adult you are proud of him/her?  When did you last have someone tell you they are proud of you?  Check her out here: A Boarding Pass To Life  Maya loves to read and is a member of a book club.  She also has one of those cute little free libraries in her yard that everyone in her neighborhood enjoys using. She is a wife and mom of two teens and coordinates the Museum's annual Mayfaire art festival. She is pretty amazing, actually!  I'm proud of HER!!

My blogging friend, Linda Eller (Me and Mine) lost her blog and had to start over this week.  She lost most of her connections too.  Some of my friends are also hers (or should be!), so if you are missing Linda, you can find her HERE!  Linda is a retired nurse with children and very talented grandchildren. She is a Christian and loves her church and church family. Please give her a visit and connect/re-connect!

Karen and I have been friends since grade school (5th-6th grade). We were in band together (she played clarinet; I played trumpet). We were on the yearbook staff. We double-dated for senior prom. We had so much fun growing up together. I call her (and Elaine) my BFFs. They were/are both like sisters to me.

Karen is a blogger and you can find her very creative posts HERE at Flamingo Ks Blogabout.  She is a seamstress, a crafter, a gardener and a photographer, as well as one of the sweetest souls you would ever want to know.

All that to ask for prayers today, for Karen. She is having surgery for esophageal cancer. The surgery will be long (4-6 hours). She will be in ICU afterwards for 3-4 days, then in a regular hospital room for another 5-7 days.  Recuperation will be painful and long. She told me she is ready for it and with God's help will fight through it.  Her husband, Lee, will call me when she is out of surgery today. I'll have a report for tomorrow's Prayer & Praise Friday.  Offer a prayer for Lee, their kids and the surgical team, too, please.  It will be a very long day for all of them.  Thanks so much! She believes (as I do) in the power of prayer.

Thank you for your visit today!  Wishing you a good Thursday (Friday Eve!).  Peace & hugs.
