150 Chats! That's a lot of talking!
Good Morning!
From Patrice: With temps in the high sixties and seventies, I'm smiling. We have a
drought now, but compared to the problems others have, I shall not
complain. I hope you are all doing well. Thank you for dropping by.
Wendell asks that you send some hay. He says his pasture is getting
brown. Carrots would be nice too.
Today's questions:
- Do you ever watch old TV shows or movies from your childhood or youth? Yes, indeed. I like seeing some of the old shows and cartoons. They don't make 'em like they used to!
- Have you ever adopted a rescued animal? We have cats, and have rescued many through the years. Two of our current four are strays we rescued.
- Are you good at keeping track of paperwork and records? Yes. Have to be, both at work and at home. I'm an accountant and keep the books at home, too.
- What would you like the Magic Wendell Fairy to poof with his wand, and turn into a treat for you? Any snack or sweet you would like. It doesn't have to do with carrots, or HE'D eat it! Oh my, anything freshly homemade that includes chocolate! Warm with a scoop of ice cream on it would make it even better!
- Tell me something interesting- please. There is a big concern in Lakeland right now, with wild coyotes killing cats. I have several friends who lost their cats, and are just sure the coyotes got them. I was talking with a co-worker this week, who has lost two cats (keeping her third one in all the time, now). She actually saw a coyote run through her neighborhood, in the wee hours of the morning, and she said he was obviously hunting. Another friend in that neighborhood has lost one and someone she knows, who lives down the street, has lost four cats. Keep your pets in, and they won't get hurt!! That old saying "Do you know where your kids are?" can also be "Do you know where your pets are?"!!! It amazes me that a city the size of Lakeland has wild coyotes roaming the streets at night! Where are they during the day, and why are the animal control people not trapping and setting them free in open areas, away from the city?
Here are a few of the stories that have been in our newspaper about the coyote problem. Amazing!
Do any of you have experience with coyotes? Kind of scary!!
Hope you enjoyed the chat today! I wish you a good weekend! Thanks for stopping by, and for your comments! Be blessed!
