A busy Saturday...

Joe and I have been on the run nearly all day today, but it's all good.

We started the day at the consignment store, where we purchased a double dresser to put in our second guest room, which doubles as Joe's office. My crafting/jewelry supplies are in two rolling plastic storage units, which don't look very nice. He has a medium sized flat screen TV in there (32 inches), too, and we took it off the wall when we painted. Decided to put the stand on it, and find a dresser for my supplies and one that his TV can sit on. We have quite a few consignment stores in town, but we have had great luck in this one. If you remember when we bought the day bed, and also the headboard for our king size bed. The dresser is solid wood, well made, with six drawers. It is very heavy, but we got it loaded into the car and got it home. It is in the garage, waiting for the floors to be installed. It's in pretty good condition. A little used looking, but we got it for $125.00.

After dropping it off at home, we went over to Lakeside Village to do some shopping.  On February 22, the Museum's Gala happens, and it is a black tie event. Joe has to rent a tux and I needed to find a new "fancy" top to wear with my long black skirt. I found one in a catalog, but wanted to see if there was something on sale at Belk's - and there was. I'm pleased with my half-new outfit for this year's Gala. Pictures later!

We went to the 4:00 Vigil Mass.  The sermon and readings were about Mary & Joseph presenting Jesus in the Temple, at 40 days old. Fr. Charles talked about how we all present ourselves to the Lord when we walk into the church. He always delivers a great message. We are so happy we went back to our old church.

I bought tickets for the VISTEball event, that was tonight. It started at 6:00, so we ran home to feed the cats and then headed up to the stadium complex, where the event is held each year.  VISTE stands for Volunteers In Service to the Elderly.  It is a wonderful organization, and we were so happy to help support them by attending this fundraiser. We also helped deliver meals to shut-ins on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I really want to become more involved with this group of folks. The website is linked above. There are VISTE organizations in other cities, too.  It was packed tonight. We bid on an auction item, but probably won't get it, and we also bought a raffle ticket for a 50/50 drawing, which we also probably won't win, but it all helps VISTE.  We had a nice dinner and some yummy strawberry shortcake with ice cream, from Dairy Queen. I took two photos....

It is always well supported by our community. We saw lots of people we knew and had a great time. Joe already said he is looking forward to next year!!

Tomorrow, we have to get all the furniture out of our bedroom (except the bed!), and I will also do laundry.  I took Monday off, so I can be here to help, at least until I have to go to my orthopedic doctor appointment. We will try to get our bedroom put back together, and Joe's office, if we have time. Then we can work a little each night.

Hope you had a good Saturday, and I sure wish you a great Sunday!! Thanks for checking in with me! Peace, love & hugs.
