1.What would you say is the most difficult task when it comes to spring cleaning? Have you completed that task this year? Any plans to get it done? All cleaning is a chore but the worst are baseboards and floors. I can't get on my knees anymore. The metal pushes against tissue and I just can't do it. It hurts. I really need to suck it up and hire it done... a good, thorough heavy clean. Sigh.2. Your favorite pastel color? Maybe pink or maybe a creamy yellow...Favorite thing you own in a pastel shade? I have a pink (suit) jacket that I love and wore a lot when I was working full time I haven't worn it in six years. It is hanging in the closet. I thought I might wear it for Easter but it's too heavy for 90 degree days.
3. Do you like ham? Yes. Do you fix ham year round or is it mostly just a 'holiday food'? Year-round. Baked ham-ham and eggs-ham and cheese sandwich-scalloped potatoes and ham-Hawaiian pizza....what's your pleasure? All of those except the Hawaiian pizza. I just don't get ham and pineapple on pizza.
4. Do you celebrate Easter? Joyfully!! What did Easter look like when you were a kid? Easter was such a big deal when I was a kid. New clothes, new shoes, a hat, lacy gloves, patent-leather shoes, new anklets... A family dinner after church that included cousins. An Easter basket full of candy and maybe a necklace and the Easter bunny always hid the baskets so the hunt was on! What are your plans for Easter this year? My boss and his wife invited me for dinner. Their little granddaughter will be there for all the kid fun!
5. Something that makes you feel hopeful amidst all the chaos and confusion this world brings? My faith in Jesus Christ and knowing the chaos and confusion will all be gone one day. God is always in control. Be kind and believe!
6. Insert your own random thought here. That picture from 1953 is one of my favorites. I grew up with my cousins. Jim passed away last year. Pam is the mom of Justin Chambers and was like a big sister to me growing up. Bob showed up at my door the day of Joe's memorial service. He flew down from Ohio. I had no idea he (or any family from up north) would be here. That meant so much to me. I am so incredibly blessed by my family and friends, and that I got to grow up in small town Ohio surrounded by so many who cared and still care. Not taken for granted.
Peace & Hugs!
Because He lives
I can face tomorrow
Because He lives
All fear is gone
Because I know
He holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because He lives (He lives)
How well you described the Easter outfit..... the gloves.. and my Mother gave me one of her embroidered hankies that went into my little purse that just made my day.
ReplyDeleteEaster is the most important holiday ever!
ReplyDeleteI can't get on the floor now either.
I clean but I can't say I love it.
Ham - not a big ham person.
Have a blessed Easter!
I so love this olden picture of you and your cousins. 'Sure wish more parents would still dress their littles in this fashion. I forgot to mention the egg hunts. In early years my parents used to hide eggs all about the house for my expedition (party of one). Good times!
ReplyDeleteAww I love the Easter Photo. You guys are so cute!
ReplyDeleteIf I get on the floor I need to crawl over to something to stand up again! Ouch! I love your memory photo, precious. Happy Easter to you.
ReplyDeleteI have very similar Easter memories and tried to create the same for my own girls. I'm with you on baseboards-ugh! Have a wonderful Easter weekend!
ReplyDeleteI had to read the last three posts to catch up. Crazy here, but all good. I love the Easter picture. We did look cute in our little dresses way back then. I know it meant a lot for your cousin to show up when you needed that.
