I Miss You
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Saturday 9: I Miss You (1997)
... because Smellyann suggested it
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) In this song, Bjork knows what she's looking for in a mate, she just hasn't met him yet. If you are/were still looking for The One, what two qualities would you hope he/she possessed? A sense of humor and respect for me (and I am blessed to have it!).
2) The lyrics ask if you believe "that a dream can come true." Do you believe that dreams come true if you wish hard enough? I don't think just wishing is enough, but I do believe you can make your dreams come true if you work at it.
3) Bjork turns 50 this year. Do you treat "milestone" birthdays differently? Or to you, is your age just a number? I think every birthday should be celebrated, but especially those milestones. Life should be celebrated.
4) Bjork was always highly musical. At the tender age of 6 she began studying classical piano and flute. Sam is impressed because, at the age of 6, she was still trying to master tying her shoes. Do you consider yourself musical? I played trumpet in school and was pretty good, but not the best. I sang in chorus and made "All County" one year. I can read music, but I don't consider myself especially "musical".
5) She was born and raised in Reykjavik, Iceland. While the city is known for its bar scene, beer was banned there until 1995. How often do drink beer? Maybe twice a year. I don't like beer and have never been able to acquire a taste for it.
6) 66º NORTH is one of Iceland's biggest employers. This clothier makes quality outdoor wear and this time of year they sell a lot of durable rainwear. Do you have a raincoat? Yes, I do, but it's always too hot to wear a coat of any kind here in Florida. I use a golf umbrella on a regular basis. It is big enough to cover my booty and anything I am carrying.
7) In 1997, when this song was popular in clubs, Titanic was popular in theaters. Sam saw it and yes, she cried. How about you? Have you seen the saga of Jack and Rose? Yes. Did you enjoy it? Yes, I enjoyed it and we own the DVD, but I've not watched it since the first time (didn't see it in the theater).
8) Also in 1997, singer John Denver died. Name a John Denver song. Country Roads
9) Random question: If you had the opportunity to skydive, would you take it? No, no, and no.

Oh, I'm on the very same page as you about skydiving....who in their "right mind" would do that?!?!? This is your answer that stood out the most to me, though....Life should be celebrated.....what a wise woman you are! HOPE you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLoved the answers and about spit out my coffee with your skydive answer, lol. I agree, who in their right mind? Thanks Terri, have a lovely Saturday. Blessings
ReplyDeleteYou and I both are blessed with wonderful husbands! As for skydiving, NO! Life should be celebrated, every minute of every day is a gift. Wishing you a lovely weekend. xo
ReplyDeleteLoved your number 1, glad you got a keeper!
ReplyDeleteLiked the questions and your answers. We best all celebrate each day because only one knows when it will all end.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is wonderful when you find "the one!"
ReplyDeleteLiked all your answers and especially no, no, and no. Me too!
Yes, very good answers. I don't know maybe we'll change our minds about skydiving when we're older, maybe when we're 90. I don't think I've ever celebrated any milestone birthdays, but I always celebrate my birthday. Enjoy the rest of your day.
ReplyDeleteNo skydiving for me! No beer either - just never did like it!
ReplyDeleteTerri, loved your answers to #2 and 3. If you wish for it, you must work for it...and I love celebrating my birthdays. I guess I might be the 'odd man out' but I have enjoyed my journey into my senior years. The Lord has blessed me with a good life, and if that changes I know He still holds my hand (Isaiah 41:10). Many, many wonderful memories, and looking forward to making more. Have a great SonDay!
ReplyDeleteGrandma's Feathered Bed. Loved John Denver.
