We finally FINALLY saw some sunshine peeking through the clouds yesterday! I took a couple of photos on my way to the bank yesterday afternoon.
Both shots of Lake Morton, the swan lake.
The opening tonight at the Museum is going to be mobbed. I'm not unhappy to be missing the craziness. (We will be having dinner with Cheryl & Nino, down in Valrico.) We usually have 120 people for an opening but have over 300 RSVPs, so have made arrangements for sound and TV coverage to handle the overflow. Our auditorium only holds 152 people. I have visited the galleries three times already because the paintings are so amazing. Rembrandt's Academy...the paintings are by students of Rembrandt. The collection came to us from the Netherlands. Here is just one of them...
Check out the fine details! Fingernails, book pages, hair... just wow!
We also are showing some of our permanent collection and one of my favorites has been brought out. It is 15 Men by James Michaels.
Happy Friday!! Thanks for coming by! Bring on the weekend! Peace & hugs!

Your Art Museum looks so interesting! Someday I'm coming to visit...and you can play "tourist" with me and show me around, since by then you will be a retired lady! Enjoy your weekend and just relax!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to showing you our beautiful Lakeland and the art museum!
DeleteIt is pouring rain here right now. A real soaker. Your pictures are nice and thanks for sharing two of the exhibits. I love the Saint Matthew. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour museum always has neat exhibits. Enjoy dinner with your friends
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, although pretty "flat", lolol---where's the mountains, LOLOLOL. (just being silly)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day, friend.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing the art with us. Enjoy not being part of the craziness.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed working in a museum and I can tell you do too (even though you are looking forward to retirement). I've been through the 300+ people showing up when you have room for 150. It's not fun when you are the one working it. I so love the paintings you showed us. I would love to come visit it someday.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday Terri! Enjoyed your photos. Hope you have a good time tonight.
ReplyDeleteI would just love to be part of a museum with such beautiful art
ReplyDeleteVery impressive for a "small" museum.... lucky you!
ReplyDeleteHaving such a supportive community must feel really gratifying! I'd love to see that painting of St. Matthew up close and in person!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a most enjoyable evening with your friends!
Very beautiful; hope you enjoy this evening and dont have to fight the crowds! lol
ReplyDeleteLovely. I would love to see the museum !
ReplyDeleteSwans are so beautiful.
Have a lovely weekend
That looks like an amazing exhibit! Enjoy the weekend - glad you don't have to be there.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a terrific opening. How long is the exhibit there?
ReplyDeleteThrough the summer! You should come see it!! :)
DeleteOnce again I'm late in commenting on your FFF link up (but not just yours, everybody's). I had a busy day working outside yesterday and when I finally came in and showered, I was zonked...and hurting. LOL It has to be unreal the knowledge you have about art, my Friend. You need to write a book once you get all settled down into retirement. And,I just noticed that the little squiggles on your background look like church steeples. :-) HOPE you have a great weekend.
