My weekend was just right. Not too busy but I got some things done.
On Friday, I got a text from Justin Nunn asking if I could pick up their daughter Cesily from her work. I was happy to help Cheryl's (Sunlit Pathways) son and granddaughter. She works at the coffee shop near the art museum where I used to work. It gave me a chance to check out the work being done on the new addition. I don't think it fits in with the original architecture and is actually rather ugly. But... I retired from there seven years ago and my opinion doesn't matter.
It was fun catching up with Cesily and the family on the drive to their home. They moved into a much bigger house that suits them well. They are very involved in their church and the two oldest are getting ready to go to college this fall and will live on campus. I'm so happy for them!!
On Saturday, I slept in a bit (thank you cats) and decided to strip the bed to wash all the bedding. Vinny threw up on the bedspread so that was my motivation. LOL While the bed was stripped, I moved it away from the wall and cleaned cat hair. Good golly. I got it all put back together before getting in the shower.
Monika invited me, Danon and Mali for dinner at her house Saturday evening. She made a delicious spinach quiche, made rolls, and served ice cream for dessert after we played a couple of games. Always fun!
Church yesterday morning. Did my usual two loads of laundry. My neighbor, Anne, popped in for a visit. Her husband, Paul, has leukemia and has been in the hospital for several weeks, then was moved to a rehab place to get him strong enough to go home. Anne isn't able to get him up and down or in and out of the shower so that's what he has been working on. Unfortunately, he needed another blood transfusion, so is back in the hospital. If you have a prayer list, please add Paul and Anne.
Hello July. I don't have a real busy week ahead and plan to take Thursday and Friday off from work. There is a 4th celebration at the clubhouse and it's free for residents!! It's been a long time since I was able to participate so I'm excited. I'm going to sit with Dee and Bill. The Mas Verde Thursday dinner group will all be there too (not going out this week). I may be having lunch with friends on Friday. AND...
Happy birthday to my BFF, Elaine on Tuesday!! She will be officially older than me for the next six months!! Love you, Elaine!
